The CONFIO trustmark has just updated its Code of Conduct to respond to Decree-Law No. 84/2021, which regulates consumer rights in the purchase and sale of digital goods, content and services, transposing the Directives (EU) 2019/771 and (EU) 2019/770.
This new version includes some of the most significant legislative changes in the field of e-commerce, among others:
- Provide a toll-free line for the consumer or, alternatively, a phone line that corresponds to a geographic numbering range (range “2”) or mobile numbering (range “9”).
- Disclose the information on the price of calls in ascending order of price must be provided in an equally clear and visible way.
- Inform the consumer of the possibility of taking back waste electrical and electronic equipment free of charge and shall ensure that it is received.
- Professional shall also make the electronic complaints book available on its website.
